Reciprocal Gardens

The Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden participates in the American Horticultural Society’s Reciprocal Admissions Program developed to promote horticulture across North America, encouraging people to visit gardens and other horticultural institutions. Launched in 1990, this program currently counts more than 350 participating horticultural institutions in 48 states and the District of Columbia plus Canada and the Caribbean.

Visit the AHS Reciprocal Admissions Program website for more information or click here to view a PDF of the gardens available to Arboretum memberships.

Arboretum Members:

We encourage you to contact reciprocal gardens before you visit to confirm their current admission policies. Gardens within the AHS Reciprocal Program have the option to exclude members of gardens within 90 miles.

Please note, Descanso Gardens, South Coast Botanic Garden, and the California Botanic Garden do not offer reciprocal admissions to Arboretum members.

Members of Other Gardens:

The Los Angeles County Arboretum has enacted the 90-mile exclusion policy. Members of gardens within 90 miles of the Arboretum do not receive reciprocal benefits.

If you are a member of a garden farther than 90 miles, you may show your card at the entry during regular business hours for entry. (Please see our main page for current policies. Reciprocal admission begins at 9 am. Early entry times reserved for Arboretum members only.)

If you have any questions, please email memberships@arboretum.org or call us at 626-821-3233.
